We are launching a new project, Share Your Heritage, that features your heritage stories! Your submissions will be shared by us on our social media and our website throughout the year, and will highlight and celebrate Regina’s rich built and cultural heritage.
What sort of heritage stories are we looking for?
Submission criteria is open-ended! We want to read about what’s significant to you. Examples of submissions may include, but are not limited to:
- Family history
- You or your family’s history to Canada/Regina/the land Regina now occupies;
- If you are a newcomer or newcomer-descendant, feel free to highlight individuals or community organisations that were particularly supportive upon arrival;
- A friend or family member who is or was heavily involved in the community;
- Your heritage home;
- Architectural heritage
- Your favourite heritage building in Regina, or a building you think is under-appreciated;
- Memories from your time working, staying in, living in, or visiting a heritage building;
- Cultural heritage
- Indigenous cultural traditions, or family traditions that have been passed down through generations;
- Traditions that you have kept alive since you or your family’s immigration to Regina;
- Your favourite community events, cultural spaces, or local businesses
Stories can be submitted using the form below, and we encourage you to share any relevant photographs (with credit) alongside your submission. We are gathering stories to share on our website and social media channels (Instagram and Facebook) throughout the year, and look forward to hearing from you!
