Regina Spanish Influenza Memorial Unveiling

December 14, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Throughout 2017 I have worked with various groups and organizations throughout the city to raise money for a memorial for Regina’s 330 Spanish Influenza victims.

On December 14th at 3pm we will be unveiling a memorial in honour of those 330 victims at the Regina Cemetery, near the graves of several unmarked victims.

When the Spanish Flu arrived in 1918, the city put in a ban on public gatherings to prevent the spread of the flu. Many of the people were never able to say goodbye to their loved ones. Today, there is no such ban in place, so please come out and remember those lives lost.
