Unveiling of a Permanent Indigenous Veterans’ Monument
May 3 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
- FreeMembers of the public are invited to join the Indigenous Veterans Monument Committee next Saturday, May 3 in Victoria Park for the unveiling of a permanent monument that honours Indigenous Veterans. The unveiling coincides with the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
From the Royal Regina Trust: “This monument stands as a reminder of their courage and sacrifice—and the injustices many faced upon returning home. It calls for remembrance, education, and the reparations still owed. We know that at least 20% of the Regina Rifles Regiment identified as Indigenous during the Second World War.”
