This Friday, February 1, The Civic Museum of Regina will be helping to launch African Canadian/Black History Month.
Join us at the MacKenzie Art Gallery Shumiatcher Theatre at 7:00pm for a free event featuring greetings from The Honourable Gene Makowsky, Minister of Parks, Culture & Sport, His Honour, Mayor Michael Fougere, and a panel moderated by the Civic Museum of Regina’s Marlee Yule.
Panelists include Pamela Brown, a 12th generation Canadian who came to Regina in the 90’s, George Reed, former Saskatchewan Roughrider who first came to Regina in 1963, and Arnold LaFayette whose grandfather arrived in Regina in 1906 to homestead in Saskatchewan. This conversation will explore the role of artifacts in the development of history, documentation, and education.
Reception to follow in Craft Services, MacKenzie Art Gallery Café.
