SUMMARY:Victorian Teas - September 8th
DESCRIPTION:Since 1991\, Victorian teas are a long-held tradition at Government House. Hosted by the Government House Historical Society in the Henry Newlands Ballroom\, they offer a unique setting for this time-honoured tradition. For tea dates and to make reservations\, please visit the Government House Historical Society. Tea times are at 1 PM and 2:30 PM. \nDid you know?  50-60 volunteers are needed to run the tea\, and they serve over 2500 people per year\, 180 slices of bread have the crust removed per tea or 1620 per year go into sandwiches and 350 napkins are folded each tea weekend or 3500 per year. \nThe Government House Historical Society makes this a must attend event. \nFor information please visit their website or to make reservations please leave a message for the Government House Historical Society at 639-571-7123. \nNote that we are unable to provide special diet requests.  This includes vegan and gluten free choices. \nUpcoming Teas for 2018 are: \nMarch 3 & 4\nApril 7 & 8\nMay 5 & 6\nJune 2 & 3\nJuly 7 & 8\nAugust 11 & 12\nSeptember 8 & 9\nOctober 13 & 14\nNovember 3 & 4\nDecember 1 & 2

Researchers Toby Sperlich\, Glenn Sutter\, and Leah O’Malley will present the early results of their research into Saskatchewan ecomuseums. The agenda will also include round table discussions with experts on a range of topics\, including the potential for Indigenizing the ecomuseum model\, possibilities for funding\, and community engagement.

DESCRIPTION:The Government House Foundation (new page – be sure to like it!) was established to preserve and enhance Government House. Their goal is to promote the awareness of its rich history and significant contributions to the governance and development of Saskatchewan. \nThe Foundations’s capital campaign supports new projects at Government House\, including the Northeast Development of the Edwardian Gardens and the revitalization of interior spaces to better serve visitors. \nThese improvements will ensure that this National Historic Site remains a vibrant and relevant destination of choice for residents\, new Canadians\, and people from around the world. \n\nJoin them on September 17 at 5PM in celebrating their new Honorary Patron His Honour the Honourable W. If you do then you remember the Broadway Popcorn Wagon! \nOne of the most unique pieces in the Civic Museum of Regina’s collection is the Broadway Popcorn Wagon. The handmade cart was purchased by John Alecxe in 1929\, and operated in the city by his family for the next 60 years. \nLearn about the history of the cart and the experience of immigrant families in the early twentieth century with Ken Alexce\, grandson of the original owner. \nJoin us for a FREE evening of stories\, history\, and popcorn! SUMMARY:Summer Walking Tour - Regina Cemetery Tour - 4th Ave and Broad Street
DESCRIPTION:Meet Kenton de Jong at the cemetery entrance at 6:00pm. This tour visits the graves of Regina’s politicians\, police officers and soliders\, along with victims of the Regina Cyclone\, Regina Riot and Spanish Influenza. We will be concluding the tour in the Beth Jacob’s Jewish Cemetery\, so we ask visitors to bring a scarf or head covering. \nThis tour will be occurring June 29\, July 27\, August 31 and September 28\, 2018. \nAll Heritage Regina walks begin at 6 p.m. and last approximately two hours. The tours are free\, with a suggested donation of $10.
