SUMMARY:Community Heritage Inventories and Statements of Significance
DESCRIPTION:April 18:    Community Heritage Inventories and Statements of Significance \n9:30 am – 4:30 pm          \n  \nWorkshop participants will learn how to create a community heritage inventory and how to write a Statement of Significance.  A heritage inventory is a fundamental planning tool that will enable you to identify and evaluate the historic places that exist in your community\, and to make well‑informed decisions about their protection and development.  A Statement of Significance (SOS) is a valuable communication and management tool that explains why a historic place is important\, and identifies those elements of the place that should be preserved. \n  \nThese workshops will be valuable learning opportunities for communities implementing a Main Street program\, and for any other organization that owns\, uses\, manages or regulates historic places.  Both workshops have also been certified for professional learning credits by the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute.  The workshops are designed so that they can be taken on a standalone basis\, but attendance at both is recommended for maximum benefit. \n  \nPre-registration is required for both workshops although there is no registration fee.  Please note that no lunch will be provided. \n  \nBoth workshops will be held at: \nSt Mary’s Anglican Church \n3337 15th Ave\, Regina \n  \nSeating is limited and will be booked on a first-come/first-serve basis. \n  \nTo register please follow the appropriate link: \n  \nHeritage Inventory/Statement of Significance Workshop \nTuesday\, April 18\, 2016 \n9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. \nhttp://gos.fluidsurveys.com/s/2017-Statement-of-Significance/ \n
